Starbucks has lifted the $250,000 (181,000 pounds sterling) restriction on the personal use of company-owned aircraft by its Chief Executive Officer, Brian Niccol. The reason cited for the decision is the increasing risks related to the executive's safety.

The company took this step after a special security review, as reported by BBC News. The review recommended that Brian Niccol use the company plane for all air travel due to increased media attention and "actors who could pose a real threat."

According to information, Brian Niccol regularly travels approximately 1,000 miles (1,600 km) from his family home in Newport Beach, California, to Starbucks' headquarters in Seattle. He uses the company's aircraft for his commute along this route.

It should be noted that until September, Brian Niccol's personal use of the aircraft was limited by an annual cap, and he was required to reimburse the company for expenses exceeding this limit. The new decision reportedly removes this requirement entirely.
