A new stage of talks begins amidst the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The editorial office reports that, according to the words of Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov during a phone conversation with Izvestia, the Russian delegation has departed for Istanbul for the third round of talks. The meeting will primarily involve an exchange of views on the draft memorandums discussed and mutually presented in the second round. However, Peskov noted that the parties' positions on these documents are still completely contradictory, and it is too early to talk about results.

Peskov stated that the preparation of the memorandum planned for signing with Ukraine is considered an initial stage for a possible meeting between Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky. However, without detailed agreements, it is not realistic to talk about the timing of such a meeting.

He assessed the protests held in some Ukrainian cities against the restriction of the powers of anti-corruption bodies as an internal affair of the country.

According to Kremlin information, the level of corruption in Ukraine remains high, and a significant portion of military aid received from Western countries has been misappropriated.
