The Russian Federation has taken the second-to-last position in the global internet freedom ranking, surpassing only North Korea. The country scored a very low result in this category, collecting only 4 out of a possible 100 points. For comparison, North Korea received zero points in this index.
The editorial office reports that this ranking was compiled by "Cloudwards" analysts. The analysts conducted evaluations considering the availability of pornography, torrents, online freedom of expression, and VPN download capabilities. These criteria were used to determine the level of internet freedom in countries.
It is noted that RKN's (Russian Telecommunications Oversight Service) plan for 2027 is to surpass even North Korea. This is a remarkable goal reflecting the seriousness of the current situation and future trends in the field of internet freedom. The country's policy in this area continues to be a focus of international attention.
