Amidst the recent tensions surrounding Venezuela, the landing of a Russian military aircraft in Caracas has drawn attention. This incident occurred against the backdrop of reports regarding a possible US attack and has led to increased tension in the region.

Redaksiya reports that a Russian-made IL-76 transport aircraft landed in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, amidst reports of a possible US attack. "Defense News" reported this. The aircraft arrived in Caracas on Sunday after a two-day flight from Russia, passing over Armenia, Algeria, Morocco, Senegal, and Mauritania. The aircraft belongs to "Aviacon Zitotrans," a company involved in transporting military equipment, weapons, and soldiers to countries supporting Russia.

According to "Strana," this journey, carried out with several stops, symbolizes the circuitous routes used to bypass Western airspace or avoid possible cargo inspections in hostile countries. The IL-76 aircraft can carry up to 50 tons of cargo or up to 200 passengers. The publication reminds that this type of aircraft has previously transported small arms, missiles, and other military cargo. According to EADaily, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro requested military assistance from Moscow amidst US pressure. "The Washington Post" reported this. It is worth recalling that Russian-made Kh-31 missiles on Venezuela's Su-30 fighter jets represent a new phase of maritime deterrence. "Army Recognition" reported this. The publication commented on new images released by the Venezuelan Air Force on October 29. The images show Su-30MK2 fighters equipped with Kh-31 anti-ship missiles conducting flights over the Caribbean Sea.
