A drone equipped with a parachute and explosives has been found in the forests of Romania. News.ro reported this.
Redaksiya reports that the drone was discovered today in the Lerești commune of Argeș County by a hunter, who then informed the authorities about the find. Relevant services are currently investigating how and from where the drone arrived. According to the police, an "improvised device" was attached to the UAV.
"Today, December 21, 2025, at approximately 10:40 AM, the Câmpulung Municipal Police received a phone call informing them that a possible flying object of the drone type, crashed among the trees, had been discovered on Mount Strimtu, in Lerești commune, while participating in a hunt organized by a 49-year-old man from the Lerești commune of Argeș County," stated the Argeș Police.
It is unknown whether the drone is related to the conflict in Ukraine, but the police stated that it is definitely not used by soldiers from the NATO base in the area. According to News.ro, citing judicial sources, the UAV has a wingspan of approximately two meters, is equipped with a parachute, and is in full working order. Local sources reported that, according to initial information, the drone does not belong to civilian models.
