The situation surrounding Greenland has become one of the main topics on the international agenda. US President Donald Trump's imposition of customs duties on Greenland and his firm stance on the territory have caused significant dissatisfaction in Europe. Protesters in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, marched to the US consulate to protest these plans.

The editorial reports, citing Bloomberg, that the European Union is preparing to suspend the existing trade agreement with the US. According to the information, this step is being considered as a response to Washington's pressure regarding Greenland, and consultations on the matter are being held in Brussels.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, in a statement addressed to US President Donald Trump, stated that Greenland's status is clear. According to him, Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, and its future can only be determined by the people of Greenland and the Danes.

Starmer also emphasized the importance of Arctic region security for all NATO members. He noted that imposing customs duties on allies for defending common security is unacceptable and this issue will be directly discussed with the US administration.
