Prime Cotton LLC achieved record productivity in the company's history during the 2025 grain season, particularly in the Beyləqan region, once again demonstrating its sustainable development strategy in the agricultural sector. This year, wheat productivity in Beyləqan reached 59.15 centners/hectare, a figure that stands as one of the highest results for the company. This achievement significantly surpassed the national average wheat productivity of 36.5 centners/hectare. Prime Cotton also exceeded the national average for barley, achieving 32.91 centners/hectare compared to the country's average of 31.7 centners/hectare.
Prime Cotton's year-on-year increase in productivity in both grain and cotton fields in recent years is attributed to its strategic approach and the successful implementation of technological innovations. While the average barley productivity in 2024 was 22.23 centners/hectare and wheat productivity was 36.91 centners/hectare, these figures rose to 32.91 and 46.43 centners/hectare, respectively, in 2025.
Rövşən Mahmudov, the company's CEO, commented on this success:
"As Prime Cotton, although our main area of activity is cotton farming, we have set ourselves the goal of preserving soil fertility and overall productivity by implementing a crop rotation system.
In recent years, we have made significant investments in modern machinery and precision agricultural technologies, and today we see the real results of these approaches in the fields. Our goal is to consistently ensure high productivity in both cotton and grain."
The crop rotation system implemented by Prime Cotton – meaning the planting of different crops in the same field each year – disrupts the cycle of pests and diseases in the soil, allowing it to remain healthy. Crops like barley and wheat improve soil structure, restore nutrients, and create fertile conditions for cotton in subsequent seasons. This approach also reduces the need for pesticides, conserves water resources, and enhances product quality.
The successes achieved are a result of Prime Cotton's purposeful strategy, modern technologies, and the combination of scientifically-based agricultural approaches. The company will continue its activities in the coming years to increase productivity in both cotton and grain fields and expand its sustainable agricultural model.
