By order of the President, a list of works to eliminate the consequences of damage caused by heavy torrential rains and resulting floods in Baku and various regions of Azerbaijan has been compiled, and a division of labor among agencies has been carried out.
According to the action plan, the works have been distributed among the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku City Executive Power, Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, Azerbaijan State Agency of Automobile Roads, and Azerishig OJSC.
According to the document, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been tasked with rebuilding a total of 52 private residential houses in areas affected by the floods. These works mainly cover the districts of Khachmaz, Guba, Shabran, Siyazan, Gusar, and Khizi, as well as Baku city.
Social support measures for the capital will be implemented by the Baku City Executive Power. It is planned to repair 61 houses affected by sewage in Keşlə settlement, provide financial assistance to residents, and cover their 3-month rental expenses. Additionally, residents of demolished private residential houses will receive one-time compensation.
Key works related to water infrastructure have been entrusted to the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency. The Agency will carry out the cleaning of canals and collectors, restoration of collapsed lines, construction of protective dams, as well as the renewal of pumping stations and other equipment.
The restoration of road infrastructure will be carried out by the Azerbaijan State Agency of Automobile Roads. Collapsed and landslide-affected sections of roads in various districts will be restored, bridges and culverts will be rebuilt, and road surfaces will be renewed.
The elimination of problems in the field of electricity supply has been entrusted to “Azerishig” OJSC. The agency will restore damaged power lines, substations, and transformer points, and stabilize the energy supply.
