On March 2, President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan familiarized himself with household waste transport vehicles at the Baku Expo Center courtyard.
These vehicles, produced at the Ganja Automobile Plant by order of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, will be dispatched to various cities and regions of the country.
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Rəşad İsmayılov and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the "Ganja Automobile Plant" Production Association Xanlar Fətiyev informed the head of state about the project.
It was stated that a total of 70 communal vehicles, each with a capacity of 22 cubic meters, have been produced within the project framework. The communal vehicles are intended to be sent from two assembly sites – in front of the Expo Center in Baku and at the automobile plant's courtyard in Ganja – to 58 cities and regions of Azerbaijan.
In Azerbaijan, in addition to the capital Baku, projects aimed at developing our regions, creating modern social infrastructure there, including parks, green spaces, and forest belts, and thereby improving the country's overall ecological situation, are being consistently pursued. In this regard, the dispatch of household waste transport vehicles to our cities and regions combines several important factors. Firstly, it will contribute to improving the quality of communal services and the sanitary-hygienic situation in the regions. Thus, modern new vehicles will ensure the timely and efficient transportation of household waste and the higher quality of cleaning work in residential areas. Furthermore, the project plays a significant role in environmental protection. Another important aspect of the project is that these vehicles are domestically produced. In total, a large number of tractors, combines, other agricultural machinery, passenger cars, trucks, and other equipment have been produced at the Ganja Automobile Plant to date.
It should be noted that the Ganja Automobile Plant was founded in 1986 on the initiative of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. This production facility resumed operations in 2004 by order of President Ilham Aliyev. Currently, about 500 workers are employed at the plant.
