More than ten countries have requested the United States to extend the temporary permission granted to purchase Russian oil. This demand was put forward due to the situation in international energy markets.

The editorial office reports that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated this in a declaration he made in the Senate. The Secretary noted that these requests are of great importance for the stability of the global economy.

According to Bessent, the demands came from finance ministers of various countries during the meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank last week. These requests reflect the difficulties created for some countries by the sanctions imposed on Russian oil.
