Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not attend the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit to be held in Egypt. A statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced that US President Donald Trump had invited Netanyahu to the summit concerning the ceasefire agreement that came into force in Gaza.

The editorial office reports that although Netanyahu thanked Trump for the invitation, he stated that he would not attend the event "due to its proximity to the start of the holiday season." However, Netanyahu had not been invited to the summit previously — it was reported that Trump had directly called Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to secure his participation.

The summit in Sharm el-Sheikh is expected to be attended by many heads of state, alongside Trump, Sisi, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. It is noted that the event will be dedicated to discussions on the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the creation of a new political mechanism in the region.
