Meta has launched its new "Vibes" application, which consists entirely of videos generated by artificial intelligence without human intervention. The platform was initially rolled out in Brazil and Mexico and has been presented to a wider audience after a threefold increase in usage within Meta AI over the past 3 months.
According to editorial reports, all videos published on the app are created using artificial intelligence, and users can take any content, change the music, update the style, add new visuals, and share their own version. This leads to the formation of a new content model based on a "remix culture," where the concept of authorship takes a backseat.
According to Meta's statement, content production has increased tenfold since these capabilities were introduced. Using this growth as a basis, the company has dedicated an entire application to AI-generated videos. The main idea on the platform is not for people to create content, but rather to select and reshape existing materials.
Experts state that this approach could significantly weaken the traditional "creative economy" model. While previously, quality content required skill, equipment, and time, AI is now removing these barriers and creating an abundance of content.
It is noted that by presenting this project separately from Instagram and Facebook, Meta gains the ability to analyze user behavior independently. At the same time, while platforms like YouTube are tightening measures against AI spam, Meta is building a complete infrastructure in this direction.
According to analysts, the "Vibes" project could determine the future direction of social networks. If users continue to consume AI-generated content, it is possible that other major platforms will transition to similar models within the next 2 years.
