Meta announced a new collaboration with AMD in the field of artificial intelligence today. This partnership will see Meta's AI-focused data centers powered by AMD Instinct GPUs with up to 6 GW of power.
Redaksiya reports that the company also signed a long-term agreement with AMD to align hardware, software, and systems, and will also purchase EPYC CPUs from AMD. The social media giant does not want to remain solely dependent on Nvidia for its servers.
The company, which is not yet a major player in the artificial intelligence field, is secretly undertaking significant future-oriented work with a large team. This move demonstrates Meta's ambitions in artificial intelligence and indicates that it will play a more active role in this field in the future.
