German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is visiting China. This is his first trip to China as Chancellor. During the visit, he will hold meetings with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and President Xi Jinping. The main purpose of the visit is to discuss economic cooperation and global security issues.

Redaksiya reports that Scholz has stated his desire to deepen relations with China. He also noted that Germany wants cooperation with China to be fair. Scholz emphasized that cutting ties with China would be a mistake for Germany, describing such a step as "shooting ourselves in the foot."

During the visit, trade imbalances, the Taiwan issue, and the war in Ukraine will also be discussed. Scholz stated that China's support for Russia is unacceptable and called on China to exert influence to stop the war in Ukraine. He also touched upon China's stance on Taiwan, emphasizing the importance of resolving this issue solely through peaceful means.

As part of the visit, an agreement has been reached between Germany and China for the purchase of new Airbus aircraft. Scholz stated that China wants to expand economic relations with Germany, but at the same time expressed Germany's concern about the trade deficit with China. He noted that this situation is "unhealthy" and that they are looking for ways to resolve this problem.
