Ali Larijani, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, issued a statement regarding the unrest in the country, asserting that the security forces have full control of the situation.
The editorial reports that Larijani noted the security agencies have identified the organizers of the events, some of whom have already been detained, while others will be apprehended soon.
According to him, although some individuals were deceived and drawn into the process, the majority moved with pre-armed rifles and pistols, which clearly indicates a planned and organized activity.
Larijani added that the immediate attacks on military and police facilities are assessed as an attempt to create civil conflict and pave the way for foreign intervention, but the prepared security forces did not allow the facilities to be seized.
