"The new rules approved by Prime Minister Ali Asadov define the cases and limits for construction on agricultural lands."

This was stated by Vugar Bayramov, a deputy of the Milli Majlis, while commenting on the Cabinet of Ministers' new decision regarding the construction of buildings on agricultural lands.

“According to the new rules, permanent residential buildings for the production and processing of agricultural products, as well as for the temporary accommodation of workers, can be constructed and installed on no more than 1 percent of agricultural land plots that are not less than 5 hectares in area and are located within a single boundary. This means that an entrepreneur with 10 hectares of agricultural land will be able to carry out construction work on 0.1 hectares of it.”

Vugar Bayramov noted that the adoption of such a decision will allow for more efficient use of land:
“Previously, the lack of clear rules in this area created serious difficulties for entrepreneurs. The new mechanism eliminates these difficulties and ensures more economically efficient use of agricultural lands.”

The deputy added that the new rules will stimulate joint use of lands:
“If a part of a land plot without a permanent structure is transferred to the ownership or use of another person, and that area is less than 5 hectares, construction work is not allowed there. This encourages the consolidation of land. As a result, conditions will be created for an increase in the number of large farms. This is currently one of the most serious challenges in the agricultural sector.”

The MP emphasized that the Cabinet of Ministers' decision will serve to increase efficiency in the use of agricultural lands.
