Israel's Decision to Recognize Somaliland Sparks Strong Reactions from Regional Countries

Israel has announced its official recognition of the Somaliland region as an independent and sovereign state. This decision has caused serious concern in the region and internationally, and has been sharply criticized by a number of countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey has evaluated Israel's move as an illegal step and another move aimed at disrupting stability in the region and globally. The Ministry stated that this decision is a clear interference in Somalia's internal affairs and is part of an expansionist policy aimed at preventing the recognition of the State of Palestine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia also issued a statement expressing its full support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unity of the Federal Republic of Somalia. The Ministry stated that it rejects the mutual recognition statement between the Israeli authorities and the Somaliland region as a step that violates international law and strengthens unilateral separatist measures.

The Somali government, on the other hand, has assessed Israel's decision as illegal, without legal force, and a direct attack on the country's sovereignty. Mogadishu has emphasized that Somaliland is an integral and indivisible part of Somalia, while also reaffirming its support for Palestinian statehood and declaring its opposition to foreign military bases and proxy conflicts.
