Israeli media has primarily covered the war with Iran through the lens of its stance on the Gaza war. This approach has focused on patriotism, an emphasis on national unity, minimal questioning of the army's claims, and a lack of coverage regarding the impact on the civilian population.
The editorial board, citing the BBC, reports that on March 24, Kanal 14, known for its support of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, aired an evening program called "Vatanseverler" (Patriots) which featured a montage video of explosions and airstrikes. The video, accompanied by militaristic music, included statements from both Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump regarding victory.
Slogans such as "We will win" and "With God's help" were displayed alongside the Israeli flag. Various versions of this montage are repeated every night, and Kanal 14's broadcasts, described as "Israel's Fox News television channel," reflect the general media stance, despite more than a month having passed since the start of the Iran war.
During the Gaza attacks, journalists emphasized unity, national resistance, and support for the Israeli army. As the war progressed, some media outlets questioned the government, particularly regarding the fate of Israeli hostages; however, images or news reports concerning the suffering of Palestinians were not aired. With the attacks on Iran on February 28, the media immediately shifted into war mode, once again displaying flags and slogans.
