Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of condolences to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The letter states:
"My Dear Brother,
We received the news of the armed attack on a school in Kahramanmaraş, which resulted in the death and injury of many people, most of whom were children, with deep shock and sorrow.
We are extremely outraged by this terrible incident and strongly condemn this act of cruelty directed against children.
In these difficult moments, we share your grief and, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, extend our deepest condolences to you, the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives, and the fraternal people of Turkey, wishing you patience and a speedy recovery for the injured.
May Allah have mercy on them!"
