Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem opposed possible direct talks between Lebanon and Israel. Qassem stated that they do not accept such talks and called on the Lebanese leadership to withdraw from this step.
The editorial office, citing Lebanese sources, reports that Qassem claimed direct talks with Israel would be a “big mistake” that would drag Lebanon into instability. According to him, this process will benefit neither Lebanon nor the current government.
The Hezbollah leader stated that if talks are to be held, they should be in an indirect format, not direct. He also emphasized that Lebanon's interests should be determined based on internal agreement, not external pressures.
In his speech, Qassem also said that “resistance against Israel will continue.” He stated that Israel's attempts to weaken Hezbollah with US support have yielded no results, and the organization will not back down.
He claimed that the Lebanese people would return to their territories “to the last inch of land” and said that Israel would not be able to remain permanently in Lebanon.
