Recently, the price of silver rose to 39.4 US dollars per ounce – this is the highest figure recorded since 2011.
The editorial office reports that since the beginning of 2025, silver has increased in value by approximately 36 percent, surpassing gold in this indicator (gold's growth rate was 31% during the same period).
Currently, the metal is approaching the psychological threshold of $40.
Among the main reasons for the price increase are:
- The US planning to impose additional customs duty on imports from Mexico,
- Shortage of supply in the spot market,
- Rapid increase in investor demand.
Currently, 87 ounces of silver are required to purchase 1 ounce of gold – this is the strongest exchange ratio since December.
Overall, a significant revival is observed in the precious metals market. Not only silver, but platinum and gold have also gained significant value. Analysts attribute this rise to global inflation concerns, economic uncertainty, and the search for alternative investments.
