The One UI 8.5 interface, running on Android 16, has been introduced for the first time with the Galaxy S26 series. This new interface allows Galaxy phones, and simultaneously Galaxy tablets, to be used as webcams on computers. This useful functionality is available on both Windows and macOS (Mac) operating systems.
Redaksiya reports that it is possible to use the front or rear cameras within the structure of this new interface. On the Windows operating system, this function is limited to 1080p 30/60 fps quality, while on the macOS operating system, it is limited to 720p 30 fps quality. A cable connection is required to activate this feature. Currently, this technology does not allow the use of phone microphones for sound recording.
It is noted that this technology is also presented for the Windows operating system through the "Windows Phone Link" application.
