At a meeting held in Canada, the finance ministers of the "Group of Seven" exchanged views on steps aimed at limiting Russia's ability to conduct military operations. The discussions also raised issues of imposing additional sanctions and customs duties against countries assisting Moscow's military efforts.

The editorial office reports that the ministers agreed to accelerate talks on using frozen Russian state assets to finance Ukraine's defense. They also stated that other mechanisms to increase financial support for Kyiv would be explored.

The Russian leadership considers these sanctions illegal. A Kremlin statement noted that the use of assets and the income derived from them would deal a serious blow to the coordinates of the international financial system, and Moscow would take retaliatory measures.
