A landmark event for football enthusiasts is taking place: the "Challenger Series" in-game competition, jointly organized by the International Football Federation (FIFA) and Konami, has begun. This competition is an important step on the road to the 2026 FIFAe World Cup, which includes the "eFootball" game.
Redaksiya reports that this year's competition, like in previous years, will generate great interest in the football world. Last year's tournament went down in history as one of the world's largest international football e-sports events, with approximately 16.51 million participants. This year, the number of participating countries and regions has reached 110, a record figure. Croatia, Kenya, and Tunisia have also joined this year's competition.
For the first time, the mobile segment of the tournament will be held in a 2v2 format, adhering to the rules of the console segment, creating a different strategic environment for players. The "Challenger Series" will consist of console and mobile segments. The selection of national team candidates will be based on their performance in AI games, PvP matches, and rating events. However, the results of the "Challenger Series" do not guarantee selection for the national team. Final selections for national teams will be carried out by the football federations of the participating countries, and the results of the "Challenger Series" will also be taken into account in these selections. This competition offers football fans the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete on a global scale.
