Red Bull driver Max Verstappen demonstrated dominance and secured victory at the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix held in Baku. The Dutch driver maintained his lead from the start to the finish of the race, completing all 51 laps in first place and giving no chance to his rivals.
The editorial office reports that following Verstappen, Mercedes driver George Russell finished second, and Carlos Sainz from Williams took third place. Kimi Antonelli finished fourth, just one step away from the podium. In a tense battle, Liam Lawson from Racing Bulls secured fifth place, achieving the best result of his career. Yuki Tsunoda finished in sixth position. McLaren driver Lando Norris started the race in seventh and finished in the same position.
Championship leader Oscar Piastri had an unsuccessful race. The Australian driver activated the anti-stall system by moving prematurely at the start lights, causing him to drop to the back of the grid. Piastri crashed at Turn 5 on the very first lap, forcing him to retire from the race. Despite Norris increasing his points after this result, he was only able to reduce the gap to Piastri in the drivers' championship by 6 points.
