An international scientific-practical conference on “Problems and Directions of Solution in the Development of the Agrarian Sector in the Context of Climate Change” was held in a hybrid format, organized by the Agronomy Research Institute (ARI) of the Ministry of Agriculture (MA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR).
During the opening of the conference, the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed, and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity were commemorated with a minute of silence.
The conference was opened with a welcoming speech by Faiq Khudaev, Director of ARI. Representatives from the Milli Majlis, relevant employees of the MA of the AR, the Ministry of Science and Education, heads and specialists of institutes, foreign experts and scientists working in the agrarian sector, including scientists from the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Uzbekistan, also participated in the event.
At the international conference held in a hybrid format, presentations and reports were made in three section meetings on the following topics: “Sustainable Management of Agricultural Production in Changing Climate Conditions”; “Directions for Managing Agro-ecosystems in the Context of Climate Variability”; “Advantages of Applying Modern Methods in the Creation of New Varieties”; “Increasing Soil Fertility and Ways of Efficient Use”; “Scientific Directions for the Application of Resource-Saving Technologies in Irrigation.”
The work of the conference was conducted in Azerbaijani, Turkish, English, and Russian. Online presentations were also made by foreign speakers from the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Russian Federation, and other countries, as well as some local speakers. In total, about 100 theses submitted to the organizing committee by scientists and specialists from scientific institutions of Azerbaijan and foreign countries will be included in the collection of Conference materials.
A presentation of the Agronomy Encyclopedia, prepared by the institute, was held at the conference, and a video clip dedicated to the 75th anniversary of ARI was also shown.
In the conference exhibition, samples reflecting the 75 years of scientific activity of ARI were displayed.
In conclusion, international certificates were presented to the speakers, and a commemorative photo was taken.
