The rapid development in the e-commerce sector is becoming one of the main driving forces of Turkey's economy. The growth trend in this area is closely linked to changes in consumer behavior and technological innovations.
Redaksiya reports that the volume of e-commerce in Turkey exceeded 2 trillion lira (~83 billion manat) in the first six months of the current year. This indicator reflects a significant increase compared to previous years. Experts predict that this figure will reach 5 trillion lira (~209 billion manat) by the end of the year. This growth is attributed to the increasing demand for online shopping, the widespread use of mobile devices, and the wide range of products and services offered by e-commerce platforms. At the same time, government support measures for this sector and infrastructure improvements also play a significant role.
The rise in the e-commerce sector creates new opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). They use online platforms to reach a wider audience and increase their sales. This enhances the economy's competitiveness and leads to the creation of new jobs. However, development in this area also requires attention to issues such as cybersecurity, consumer rights, and logistics.
