Operations by employees of the Main Department for Combating Drugs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs against the illegal circulation and smuggling of narcotic drugs into the country are continuing.
The editorial office reports that during operations conducted in Binagadi district of the capital and Yardimli, members of an organized group – previously convicted Malik Rasulov, Shahin Huseynzade, Aykhan Rustamzade, and Suraj Mammadli – were detained.
From their apartment and car, 18 kg 500 grams of marijuana with harmful substances added to its composition, and 1435 units of newly imported, potent gabapentin pills were discovered.
It was revealed that the detainees had entered into criminal contact with an Iranian citizen, whose identity is being investigated, obtaining narcotic drugs from hidden addresses and planning to place them at pre-determined points for sale.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the fact, and a pre-trial detention measure has been chosen for the detained individuals by court decision. Operational measures are continuing.
