The 13th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace was held in N'Djamena, Republic of Chad. Member of the Milli Majlis Konul Nurullayeva participated in the session. During her speech, the MP drew attention to Azerbaijan's centuries-old experience of multiculturalism.

She stated that “for centuries, the values of harmony and mutual respect among various religious and ethnic groups have been an integral part of our state policy. At the same time, our history shows that peace must always be protected by justice.”
K. Nurullayeva also touched upon Armenia's occupation policy, which lasted for nearly 30 years. She noted that for approximately three decades, Azerbaijan was subjected to occupation and ethnic cleansing. In 2020, during the 44-day Patriotic War, Azerbaijan restored its territorial integrity in accordance with international law: “With this, Azerbaijan ensured the implementation of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, which had remained on paper for almost 30 years. This was not only a military or political victory but also a triumph of justice and sovereignty. Today, we have opened a new page: in the post-conflict period, through restoration work, the ‘Great Return’ program, and international partnerships, Azerbaijan is transforming the liberated territories into a region of prosperity, connectivity, and peace.”

K. Nurullayeva also addressed the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, drawing attention to the agreements reached in Washington in August of this year in this context. She assessed this as a completely new stage in the normalization process: “The Joint Statement signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, witnessed by the US President, will contribute to ensuring peace and stability in our region. Thus, a historic opportunity has arisen for the establishment of peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus. The initialing of a peace agreement and the joint call for the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group should also be regarded as important steps towards long-term peace. Regional connectivity is at the heart of our strategic vision for achieving lasting peace.”

K. Nurullayeva noted the importance of the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project as one of the significant outcomes of the Washington Summit. She emphasized that this initiative will ensure unhindered connectivity through the Zangazur corridor and strengthen regional ties.”

K. Nurullayeva stated that Azerbaijan's message is clear – achieving peace is not the end of the struggle, but the beginning of building a better future: “Azerbaijan strives to contribute to regional and global stability by investing in reconciliation, development, and intercultural dialogue.” The MP also emphasized that it is no coincidence that this session is being held in Africa – a continent with great potential. She noted that recent transitions across the continent indicate a strong commitment to inclusive governance and stability: “Africa's advancement towards the digital age, combined with its rich human and natural resource potential, opens new opportunities for sustainable development. The integration of technology, the innovative spirit of youth, and resource-based growth will enrich not only Africa but also global cooperation.”
The MP also stated that if states work together, respect sovereignty, and are open to dialogue, these values can be fully realized: “Our parliament is living proof of this vision – bringing together voices from every corner of the world, demonstrating our commitment to a future free from war, extremism, and division”
