The meetings held by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, with the heads of leading global financial institutions and industrial companies within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos should be assessed as an important component of the country's long-term economic development strategy.
Latif Zeynalov, Head of the Department of State Programs at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, stated that these meetings show that mining, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and data centers have been identified as strategic investment priorities for attracting foreign investment in our country. The discussions held within the framework of the Forum confirm that Azerbaijan is further strengthening its position as a strategic partner for institutional investors.

The head of the department of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication specifically noted that the memorandum of understanding signed between the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAR) and "BlackRock" and "Global Infrastructure Partners" is of strategic importance for the deeper integration of the country's sovereign wealth into the global value chain. The prioritization of areas such as data centers, artificial intelligence infrastructure, and airport infrastructure reflects SOFAR's phased transition from traditional assets to high-tech and real-sector-oriented assets in its investment portfolio. This approach is considered to be fully in line with modern sovereign fund management principles, both in terms of diversifying returns and ensuring long-term sustainability.

Latif Zeynalov emphasized that discussions with leading companies such as "J.P. Morgan", "DP World", "Vestas Wind Systems", and "BTG Pactual" confirm that Azerbaijan's macroeconomic stability and fiscal discipline have earned high confidence in international financial markets. It is no coincidence that Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO of "J.P. Morgan", which highly values Azerbaijan's position as a reliable partner in international financial markets and manages assets exceeding 4 trillion US dollars, specifically noted the existence of a stable and reliable investment environment in our country. During the meetings, Andre Esteves, Chairman of "BTG Pactual", which manages assets worth more than half a trillion US dollars, emphasized that preliminary discussions were held regarding possible cooperation directions and strategic priorities with SOFAR, and dialogues on mutually interesting issues are continuing. Furthermore, cooperation opportunities in the financing of SOCAR's activities, renewable energy, and transport-logistics projects demonstrate that the deepening of the country's non-oil sector and the green transformation agenda are being translated into practical investment tools.

The head of the department of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication concluded by adding that the "Breakfast with Azerbaijan's Leadership" event organized by "Euronews" within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos once again shows that Azerbaijan is now accepted as a reliable partner for long-term investment, where strategic decisions are formed on the global economic agenda. The discussions held during the event clearly demonstrated the country's development model, built on balanced diplomacy, institutional sustainability, and economic rationalism against the backdrop of geopolitical realities. At the same time, Azerbaijan's location at the intersection of important international transport corridors positions the country as an investment destination with low risk and high strategic value for global capital. All of this gives reason to say that Azerbaijan is not a passive participant in the global economic system, but an active actor influencing regional and global processes. The established reliable institutional environment, strategic geographical position, and pragmatic economic policy further strengthen the country's attractiveness to international investors, and the discussions held at the Davos platform once again confirm the international acceptance of this reality.
