Chinese Media Focuses on Washington Meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian Leaders

Influential Chinese media outlets are keeping in focus the meeting of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, to be held in Washington at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.

The editorial office reports, citing AZERTAC, that the national news agency Xinhua, China Central Television (CCTV) part of China Media Group, the influential China News Service and Caixin online publications, along with dozens of popular news websites, write that US President Donald Trump invited the leaders of both countries to Washington for a meeting.

The articles refer to Donald Trump's post on the "Truth Social" platform and emphasize that the trilateral meeting of the leaders is of particular importance for promoting peace, security, economic development, and prosperity in the region.

Chinese media, in addition to peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington, also mentioned the United States' intention to sign bilateral economic agreements with Armenia and Azerbaijan. Furthermore, the issue of the Zangazur corridor, which will connect the main part of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, was also touched upon, and it was noted that the corridor will include railways, oil and gas pipelines, as well as fiber optic internet lines to ensure future cargo and passenger transportation.
