An appointment has been made to the position of Head of the Department of Mutual Cooperation within the International Relations Department of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY).
According to information obtained by "Report", this position has been entrusted to Ceyhun Ələkbərov.
Born in Baku in 1978, he holds a PhD in the history of international relations. In addition to being a researcher of Azerbaijan-Great Britain diplomatic relations, he completed the "New Methods of Diplomacy" program at the National Institute of Public Administration (l'Institut national du service public) in Paris, France, an institute for professional development.
C. Ələkbərov has over 20 years of experience in the fields of international relations, political science, and strategic communications. He is an expert for UNESCO on cultural heritage and for the European Union on communications. Over 20 of his scientific studies, as well as more than 300 analytical and journalistic articles written in Russian, Turkish, English, and French, have been published in various countries. With experience in both academic and corporate business sectors, C. Ələkbərov has also served as a consultant on numerous international projects covering various fields for many years.
He participated in Azerbaijan's negotiations for membership in the World Trade Organization, worked for 5 years at the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator's Office in Azerbaijan, served at the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP), worked as an advisor to the UNDP Resident Representative and acting director of the UN Information Centre (UNIC). During the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, he was a member of the WHO Azerbaijan Crisis Group, as well as the UN COP29 Working Group.
C. Ələkbərov, who also has experience in the transport and logistics sector, previously worked as the Head of the Public Relations Department at the "Silk Way" group of companies, specializing in air cargo transportation.
