Iran's foreign minister assessed the "snapback" mechanism, which will come into force in the coming days, as a deliberate escalation of dangerous tension. The minister stated that this decision further jeopardizes stability in the region.

The editorial office reports that the UN Security Council rejected Russia's and China's proposal to postpone the sanctions. According to the decision, sanctions against Iran will come into force early this morning, Baku time.

The Iranian government, however, warned that if sanctions are imposed, the country will withdraw from the nuclear inspections of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This step has created new concerns in the international community, and the next steps to be taken by the parties are being closely monitored.
