Construction of new highway in Baku 35% complete

The State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads has completed 35% of the construction of the section of the Hasan Aliyev Street – "Koroglu" metro station highway, from Academic Hasan Aliyev Street to Muzaffar Narimanov Street.

The editorial office reports this, citing the agency.

The road is being built in accordance with the "State Program for the Improvement of Transport Infrastructure in Baku and Surrounding Areas for 2025–2030," approved by the Order of the President of the country.

The new highway is designed and being built parallel to Ziya Bunyadov and Heydar Aliyev avenues.

According to the State Program, the section of the highway from Academic Hasan Aliyev Street to Muzaffar Narimanov Street will have a total length of 3.9 km, consisting of 6 lanes. Additionally, the project includes branches, ramps, and access roads totaling 2.6 km in length.

The construction of 4 tunnels with a total length of 2,073 meters and 3 underground pedestrian crossings with a total length of 112 meters is planned for the highway. Currently, construction and installation works are ongoing in all tunnels and underground pedestrian crossings.

Out of the 9,899 piles and jets planned for the project, 4,559 have been constructed to date; out of 3,400 meters of beams, 1,314 meters have been built; and out of 1,346.5 meters of retaining walls, 431 meters have been constructed.

Currently, construction and installation works are continuing rapidly and with high quality from "Ulduz" metro station towards Hasan Aliyev Street.

155 obstacles falling under construction have been identified, and appropriate measures have been taken for 92% of them. The relocation of communication lines is ongoing and is currently in its final stage.
