A new training program has been implemented by the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) with the aim of increasing the participation of women drivers in public transport.
As of today, two female drivers officially begin their work. Another female driver will start working in the near future.
Initially, their activities are supported by experienced mentor-drivers. Within the framework of the program, female candidates underwent theoretical and practical training to begin professional work as bus drivers.
In addition to driving skills, the training covered topics such as ethical conduct, communication culture, and safety.
During the training, participants were involved in practical exercises on observation techniques, maneuvering, stopping, and parking rules.
The main part of the training consisted of driving in complex road conditions, reverse and front parking, slalom maneuvers, correct selection of turning trajectories, and maintaining a safe following distance.
At the same time, drivers gained important skills related to minimizing accident risks in various road conditions.
Participants also passed independent driving tests on specially prepared routes.
Female candidates applied to start working as drivers at “BakuBus” LLC. After receiving the applications, candidates underwent medical examinations, psychological assessments, and security clearance checks as part of the recruitment process.
After successfully completing all stages, they were officially hired as drivers at “BakuBus” LLC.
During the recruitment phase, a "Careful Driving and Safe Driving" training was also organized for the women.
During the training, drivers were taught how to react correctly to actual and potential dangerous situations that may arise behind the wheel, emergency maneuvering skills, and safe driving principles. (Unikal)
