"AzInTelecom" blocked nearly 68,000 IMEI codes

"AzInTelecom" LLC, one of the AZCON Holding companies, continues its fight against the registration of mobile devices imported into Azerbaijan with cloned IMEI codes.

As part of the ongoing combat measures, 67,705 IMEI codes have been given "cloned" status and blocked to date. These IMEI codes appeared on the network with subscriber identities belonging to 1,612,873 mobile numbers in the last three months. The Mobile Device Registration System (MCQS) belonging to "AzInTelecom" rejected 1,540,604 attempts to connect to the network with these IMEI codes.

"AzInTelecom" LLC regularly monitors and conducts detailed investigations into IMEI codes suspected of being cloned. Cloned IMEI codes are given "cloned" status and their use is restricted.

It should be noted that, according to the "Rules for Mobile Device Registration" approved by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, IMEI codes of mobile devices imported into Azerbaijan from abroad must be registered within 30 days for their use in the country's telecommunication network. The originality of mobile device IMEI codes can be checked on the mygov portal.
