A new pipeline that will deliver Azerbaijani natural gas to Syria via Turkey has been officially commissioned.
The editorial office reports that gas flow to Syria is now being provided via the newly inaugurated Azerbaijan–Turkey–Syria natural gas pipeline. Within the framework of the new project, a significant increase in Syria's electricity supply is expected with daily natural gas provision — thus, electricity delivery will increase to up to 10 hours a day compared to previous hours.
The pipeline is regarded as an important step both in terms of energy cooperation and for stabilizing the humanitarian situation in the region. The project also holds strategic importance for expanding Azerbaijan's gas export opportunities to new destinations.
