Driving licenses between Azerbaijan and Belarus will be mutually recognized.
The issue is reflected in the draft law on the approval of the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on the Mutual Recognition and Exchange of Driving Licenses", which was discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly).
After the agreement is approved, the mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses between the two countries will be possible.
It is noted that the main purpose of signing the agreement is to increase the safety of road transport between both states, improve road traffic, and ensure the mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses.
According to the agreement, the parties mutually recognize permanent and valid driving licenses issued by their competent authorities in accordance with their national legislation. The provisions of the agreement regulate the exercise of the right to exchange driving licenses without passing a qualification exam, the procedures for submitting applications, the payment of established domestic fees, the equivalence of driving licenses, the exchange of their samples, the identification of competent authorities for this purpose, the transfer of necessary information, the resolution of disagreements, and other issues.
