"In recent days, completely unfounded and untrue information has been spreading on some social media platforms about alleged missile launches from the territory of Azerbaijan towards Gulf countries."

This was reflected in a statement issued by the Media Development Agency.

"Against the backdrop of existing tensions in the region, the dissemination of unconfirmed, inaccurate information on social networks serves to create false perceptions in public opinion and constitutes deliberate disinformation. We strongly condemn such attempts.

Such claims are either deliberately provocative or the result of a completely irresponsible and baseless approach. Given modern technological capabilities, it is not difficult to determine the direction from which missiles or other flying objects are launched.

The region and Gulf countries possess modern radar and surveillance systems, through which the origin and trajectory of objects are clearly determined.

We state that the Republic of Azerbaijan is always committed to the principles of international law, the sovereignty of states, and the preservation of regional stability. We call on all parties to refer only to verified and reliable sources and to refrain from disseminating unconfirmed information.

We urge media entities and social network users to demonstrate high professionalism and responsibility when disseminating information, to rely only on official and reliable sources, and to prevent the spread of suspicious and manipulative information," the statement said.
