A Memorandum has been signed between the European Aquatics (EA), Azerbaijan Swimming Federation (ASF), Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU), and Azerbaijan Sports Academy (ASA), providing for the expansion of multifaceted cooperation.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov expressed his belief that this cooperation would be successful for both sides.
Antonio Silva, President of the European Aquatics, expressed his pleasure to be back in Baku and stated that cooperation with the academy is an important step for the federation.
ASF President Zaur Aliyev noted that this Memorandum would give impetus to the development of swimming.
Rector of the Azerbaijan Sports Academy Fuad Hajiyev stated that they would implement joint projects with the federation. He added that all conditions would be created at the academy for the national team's preparation for international competitions.
Rector of Azerbaijan Medical University Garay Garaybayli emphasized that within the framework of this cooperation, new projects are planned to be implemented in the areas of education, scientific research, sports medicine, and the development of professional swimming.
After the official speeches, the Memorandum was signed. Afterwards, Antonio Silva was presented with the uniform of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation.
It should be recalled that in April of this year, EA President Antonio Silva and First Vice-President Josip Varvodić visited Baku. They met with the leadership of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation and discussed strengthening cooperation, increasing mass participation in all types of swimming, and new partnership opportunities.
