The views expressed by the esteemed President Mr. Ilham Aliyev in his interview with local television channels once again showed that Azerbaijan today is not only a state restoring its territories, but also a country contributing to regional and international cooperation, creating platforms for dialogue and partnership.
The views expressed by the esteemed President Mr. Ilham Aliyev in his extensive interview with local television channels on January 5 of this year clearly demonstrate the position our country has gained in the international relations system in recent years, especially the growing role of the liberated territories on a regional and global scale. As a result of large-scale measures, our liberated territories have become not only places where restoration and reconstruction processes are carried out, but also important centers for international events, where political, economic, and humanitarian dialogue is established. Emphasizing that he made numerous visits to foreign countries in 2025 and that many foreign heads of state and government paid official visits to Azerbaijan, the Head of State drew attention to the fact that these meetings serve to increase our country's international prestige. The esteemed President specifically highlighted the Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) held in the city of Khankendi as one of the particularly significant events.
Considering the holding of the high-level event in Khankendi as an extremely important event both politically and symbolically, the Head of State noted that a city that remained under occupation for many years today hosted an international summit, which is a clear indication of the full restoration of Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity. As we know, within the framework of the ECO Summit, various forums were also held in other liberated cities – Shusha, Lachin, and Aghdam.
These were the Business Forum, the Youth Forum, and the Women's Forum. The holding of these forums was not coincidental; the aim was to show foreign guests the real picture of the liberated territories and to demonstrate the potential of the restored cities. Thus, participants not only attended official events but also became direct witnesses to the large-scale construction work taking place in these lands. Of course, organizing events at this level requires serious infrastructure capabilities. Considering that these territories were liberated five years ago, the infrastructure created by our country in such a short period demonstrates Azerbaijan's economic power as well.
This fact once again proves that Azerbaijan is successfully carrying out the restoration of its liberated territories not only nationally but also in the context of international cooperation. In general, the views expressed by the esteemed President Mr. Ilham Aliyev in his interview with local television channels once again showed that Azerbaijan today is not only a state restoring its territories, but also a country contributing to regional and international cooperation, creating platforms for dialogue and partnership.
