At a time when stability in the European job market is weakening and AI is transforming the labor market, LinkedIn has published its 2026 list of the best large employers for career development.
The editorial staff, citing LinkedIn News Europe, reports that the list was compiled based on companies that ranked in the top three of the Top Companies ratings for France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
LinkedIn states that the ranking is based entirely on the platform's internal data. The evaluation was conducted based on indicators such as employees' advancement within the company, acquisition of new skills, talent retention, market demand for professionals leaving the company, gender balance, educational diversity, and the workforce base in the country.
In France, the top three included Groupe Crédit Agricole, Schneider Electric, and Sanofi. Groupe Crédit Agricole operates in banking and financial services, Schneider Electric in energy management and automation, and Sanofi in pharmaceuticals and vaccine production.
In Germany, Stryker led the list. Medtronic and Siemens also ranked in the top three. These companies were primarily distinguished by career opportunities in medical technologies, industrial automation, digitalization, and engineering.
In Italy, the top three spots were held by Accenture, Micron Technology, and SAP. According to LinkedIn, the most in-demand skills at these companies include SQL, project management, Java, electronics, and ERP systems.
In the Netherlands, ASML was the leader. The company develops chip manufacturing equipment for the semiconductor industry and is considered one of Europe's most strategic technology companies. Microsoft and SAP also made it into the top three.
In Spain, Amazon secured the top spot on the list. BBVA and CaixaBank took the second and third places, respectively. This result indicates that both the technology and logistics sectors, as well as the banking sector, are emerging as major career platforms in Spain.
In the United Kingdom, the top three consist of Alphabet, Amadeus, and Apple. Alphabet is the parent company of firms like Google, YouTube, and Waze. Amadeus develops software for the global tourism and travel industry, while Apple operates in electronics, software, and digital services.
According to LinkedIn's methodology, for companies to be included in the lists for France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom, they must have at least 5,000 employees globally and at least 500 employees in the respective country. For Italy and the Netherlands, a requirement of at least 500 employees within the country was applied.
To be included in the ranking, companies' employee turnover during 2025 should not have exceeded 10 percent. Furthermore, companies that reduced their workforce by more than 10 percent between January 1, 2025, and the publication date of the list were not included.
LinkedIn states that the list is not a one-size-fits-all answer for all employees. The platform's goal is to provide better guidance to job seekers, those looking to change careers, and professionals aiming to develop their skills.
The main message of the ranking is this: A good workplace in Europe is no longer measured solely by high salaries and big brand names. In an era where AI is transforming work processes, career development, new skills, opportunities for internal advancement, and long-term stability are becoming key competitive advantages for employers.
