The international exhibition of modern postage stamps from various countries has commenced as part of the 21st Universal Postal Union (UPU) Classification Competition for 2026. The competition format is exhibition-based: postage stamps issued by UPU member countries in recent years are presented at international philatelic exhibitions, and visitors vote for their preferred country's stand via QR code.
"Azerpost" reported that the first exhibition in this framework took place at the "DUBAI 2026" international philatelic exhibition held in Dubai.
At the exhibition, our country was represented by modern postage stamps issued by "Azerpost" LLC, one of the AZCON Holding companies.
Stamps dedicated to the 165th anniversary of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, the 65th anniversary of Ucal Haqverdiyev, and the 200th anniversary of Mirza Ghadim Iravani, as well as other issues reflecting the country's history and national identity, were displayed at the Azerbaijan stand.
Business meetings were also held within the framework of the exhibition between UPU member countries and partner organizations. Sitarə Hüseynova, Head of the Stamp Department of "Azerpost" LLC and concurrently Chairman of the World Philatelic Federation (WADP), participated in the meetings. During the meetings, ideas were exchanged on expanding international philatelic cooperation, promoting modern postage stamps, and partnership opportunities.
It should be noted that the postage stamps presented within the framework of the 21st UPU Classification Competition will also be displayed at prestigious international philatelic exhibitions to be held in the USA, China, Great Britain, and Monaco throughout 2026.
