Work is ongoing at the Baku Shipyard (BGZ) on three new tankers ordered by ASCO, a company within AZCON Holding.
Currently, approximately 40% of the construction work on one of these tankers has been completed. For the other two vessels, 35% of the process is behind.
The tankers will have a maximum speed of 10 knots and a deadweight of 7740 tons. Their length will be 141 meters, width 16.98 meters, and hull depth 6 meters. The special design of the vessels will allow them to dock at shallow ports with a full load.
The tankers are being built based on an innovative project that meets modern international requirements, including the highest safety and environmental standards.
It should be noted that to date, four tankers have been built and delivered by BGZ under ASCO's order. Among them, "Laçın" and "Kəlbəcər" are used for transporting oil and oil products, while "Akademik Xoşbəxt Yusifzadə" and "Zəngilan" are used for transporting both oil and chemical products. The tankers currently under construction are from the same project as the "Akademik Xoşbəxt Yusifzadə" and "Zəngilan" vessels.
