Azerbaijani citizens will be drafted for compulsory active military service from April 1 to 30, 2026, and compulsory active military service servicemen will be discharged.
The editorial office reports that President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to this effect.
According to the decree, Azerbaijani citizens born in 2008 who have reached the age of 18 by the day of conscription (inclusive), as well as those born between 1996 and 2007, up to the age of 30, who have not served compulsory active military service in the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, are not eligible for deferment from compulsory active military service, or have not been exempted from compulsory active military service, will be drafted for compulsory active military service from April 1 to 30, 2026.
Furthermore, compulsory active military service servicemen who have completed their service term as stipulated in Article 38.1.1 of the Law "On Military Duty and Military Service" will be discharged to the reserve from April 1 to 30, 2026.
