On January 14, 2026, a meeting was held with lawyers newly appointed to judicial positions by the leadership of the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan (BA), and they were awarded.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Bar Association, Anar Bagirov, welcomed the newly appointed judges, wished them success in their future endeavors, and expressed confidence that they will always remain loyal to the rule of law and the principles of justice in this responsible and honorable position.
In his speech, the Chairman noted that the foundation of judicial reforms in our country, which is on the path of building a democratic legal state, was laid by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and these reforms are being successfully continued in accordance with modern challenges under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. The main goal of these reforms is to transform the judicial system into a more transparent, efficient mechanism that ensures the reliable protection of citizens' rights.
Anar Bagirov spoke in detail about the work done to improve judicial activity, the role and activities of the Judicial-Legal Council, the competitions held for the selection of judges, and the promotion of young, knowledgeable, and professional кадров. Currently, the Bar Association is represented in both the Judicial-Legal Council and the Judicial Selection Committee. Today, the selection and appointment of judges in Azerbaijan are carried out in accordance with the most democratic and transparent procedures.
Anar Bagirov stated that the lawyers appointed to judicial positions will make a worthy contribution to judicial reforms with their knowledge, experience, and professionalism. He advised the new judges to always uphold the honorable title of judge, and to strictly adhere to the principles of objectivity, impartiality, transparency, and ethical conduct in their activities.
The chairman pointed out that 8 of the individuals appointed to judicial positions by the Decree of the Head of State dated December 25, 2025, are members of the Bar Association, and he evaluated this as a high indicator. It was stated that the current indicators confirm that the legal profession serves not only as an institution of legal aid but also as a professional кадров bank for the judiciary.
It was noted that 8 members of the Bar Association – Nariman Aliyevich Almammadov to the Agjabadi District Court, Aytekin Gulali qizi Aliyeva to the Bilasuvar District Court, Ibrahim Mehman oglu Gazibeyov to the Quba District Court, Ulker Taleh qizi Makhsudova to the Garadagh District Court of Baku city, Asim Vilayet oglu Mirzazade to the Qakh District Court, Javidan Mustafa oglu Mustafayev to the Lachin District Court, Gunel Adil qizi Safarli to the Qusar District Court, and Javid Loghman oglu Suleymanov to the Sabunchu District Court of Baku city – who demonstrated high knowledge and professionalism in the competition announced for vacant judicial positions, were appointed to judicial positions by the Decree of the President dated December 25, 2025.
At the end of the event, Anar Bagirov presented Certificates of Honor to the individuals appointed to judicial positions, based on the relevant decision of the Presidium of the Bar Association.
