ASCO's “Akademik Tofiq İsmayılov” diving vessel, part of “AZCON Holding” companies, has undergone a major overhaul. The repair work was carried out at the “Bibiheybət” Ship Repair Yard.

Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) CJSC reported that during the process, the main engines, windlass, capstan units, pumps, piping systems, electrical equipment, crew living quarters, sanitary facilities, and dining hall were repaired. Additionally, the underwater and above-water parts of the vessel were cleaned and painted. Damaged areas and protectors on the underwater and above-water sections of the hull were replaced.

Furthermore, the vessel's propulsion-steering complex, bottom-side fittings, anchor devices and chains were adjusted, and the helicopter pad's railing and drainage (scupper) system underwent major repairs.

Modern, new communication and electro-radionavigation equipment, including 3 sets of stationary radio stations, 1 set of gyrocompass, and 1 new emergency radio beacon (EPIRB), were installed. The vessel was also equipped with new “Inmarsat-C” equipment.

After the repairs, the diving vessel was subjected to sea trials. The trials were successfully completed, and the vessel has been returned to operation.

The “Akademik Tofiq İsmayılov” vessel is 91.8 meters long and 17 meters wide. Equipped with a DP system, the vessel is designed for diving operations at depths of up to 300 meters and other underwater work in deep areas up to 1000 meters.
