In a statement on global economic prospects, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization stated that Africa will rise to a decisive position in the world economy in the coming decades. According to him, demographic and socio-economic indicators clearly show that the continent will become the center of future markets.

The editorial reports that according to the Director-General's forecast, Africa's population will reach 2.5 billion by 2050, with approximately 800 million of this population belonging to the middle class. These indicators are of great importance in terms of the expansion of consumer markets and the rapid increase in domestic demand.

The statement emphasized that in the future, one out of every 4 workers globally will be African. This trend indicates that Africa will become not only a consumer market but also one of the main driving forces of the global labor market.

The WTO head noted that these realities create both responsibility and great opportunities for African countries. In his opinion, with the right economic policies, education, and infrastructure investments, Africa will become one of the main directions of global trade and investment flows in the future.
