Zelensky Emphasized That Trilateral Talks Should Continue

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced in a social media post that he met with journalists in his office in Kyiv and answered questions about the agenda. He recalled that trilateral meetings had previously been held between the US, Ukraine, and Russia to end the Russia-Ukraine war, and noted that such talks should continue.

Redaksiya reports that Zelensky stated he believes a trilateral meeting would take place if Russia chooses the path of de-escalation, and said that it could be held in April, May, or June. Zelensky, claiming that the US would try to postpone these meetings until the pre-election campaign to resolve the crisis, stated: “I think it will be very difficult for us until September. I don't think the Americans will give anyone more time for this dialogue. This spring and summer will not be easy politically and diplomatically. Ukraine is concerned.”

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine would continue its activities, protecting its national interests and security. Zelensky claimed that the Russian army suffered “heavy” losses on the front line.

Zelensky said that Russia planned to fully capture the cities of Druzhkivka, Kostyantynivka, and Pokrovsk in Ukraine's Donetsk region by the end of this month, but stated that this is impossible. He recalled that he recently reached some agreements with Gulf countries regarding the fight against Iranian “Shahed” type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Zelensky also provided information about defense cooperation agreements with some countries in the region. He said, “We have 10-year agreements with three countries. Ukrainian companies will work together with the military of these countries to protect a specific object.” Zelensky noted that talks are also continuing with Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain, and emphasized that in return for such cooperation, Ukraine would receive preventive systems and energy sources to protect its energy sector.
