Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Russia to start negotiations.

The editorial office reports that Zelensky stated:
“The time has come to end the war. Ukraine is not afraid of negotiations, and we expect the same courage from Russia.”

This statement was made against the backdrop of possible future talks mediated by US President Donald Trump.

On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated his readiness to meet with Trump and named a potential venue for the meeting:
“Russia has many friends to organize a meeting with Trump. One of them is the United Arab Emirates. It is possible to hold the meeting there.”

Putin also commented on the possibility of a meeting with Zelensky:
“I am not against meeting with the Ukrainian president, but it still requires time.”

Currently, a diplomatic basis for negotiations in the Putin–Zelensky–Trump format is being formed at Trump's initiative, but significant differences in positions between the parties persist. US officials state that the meeting could take place within the next week.
